Our Origin Story
Every superhero needs a safe place to recharge—and for the dogs of Gotham, that place is Gotham Good Dogs.
We’re Elaine and Izzy: your friendly neighborhood dog-loving duo, also known around these parts as Batgirl and Batman. What started as a shared love for our own dynamic duo—Terry McGinnis the Ridgeback and Dick Grayson the Frenchie—has evolved into a mission: to give every pup in our city the hero treatment they deserve.
At Gotham Good Dogs, we know that entrusting someone with your four-legged sidekick isn’t easy. It’s like handing over your Batmobile keys to someone new. That’s why we’ve built a sanctuary of safety, trust, and tail-wagging fun—where dogs of all breeds and backstories feel seen, understood, and celebrated.
Believe it or not, neither of us grew up with dogs. But once they entered our lives, everything changed. What started with one pup (and a few chewed-up shoes) transformed into a full-blown mission: to give every dog in our care the hero treatment they truly deserve.
Here, no dog is forced into play. Every pup gets to choose their own adventure—whether they’re the life of the paw-ty or more of a brooding rooftop watcher (you know the type). Structured socialization, clear communication, and superhero-level supervision are our pillars. We meet dogs where they are and help them shine.
So whether your pup needs a cozy hideout while you’re away, a daily patrol route to stretch their paws, or a heroic team to socialize with, we’ve got their cape ready. This is more than just pet care—it’s a league of extraordinary dogs, led with love, loyalty, and a little bit of comic book magic.

Meet the gotham good dogs crew
Israel
"The Batman"- Role: Chief Protector & Alpha Human
- Traits: Calm under pressure, master of the schedule, secretly leaves extra belly rubs
- Catchphrase: “I’m Batman.”
- When he's not overseeing the dog lair, he's making sure the Batmobile (and home base) stays on course. Known to dogs as the one who always says yes to "one more treat."
Elaine
"Batgirl" (or Harley, depending on the day)- Role: Lead Handler, Trainer-in-Training, Social Architect
- Traits: Charismatic, chaos-coordinated, fluent in dog-speak
- Catchphrase: “Every dog deserves the hero treatment.”
- Elaine is the heart of the operation, using science-backed structure and silly voices to turn even the rowdiest pup into a polite citizen of Gotham. Can often be found singing to the pack or narrating their day in comic book voiceovers.
Terry McGinnis
The Watchful Wingdog (Rhodesian Ridgeback/GSD)- Alias: Future Batman
- Superpowers: Stoic presence, excellent manners, wise beyond his fur
- Role: Ambassador of Calm & King of Personal Space
McGinnis teaches younger pups how to chill like a champ and acts as a quiet anchor when energy runs high. Known for his "resting hero face."
Dick Grayson
The Daring Detective (French Bulldog)Alias: Nightwing Pup
- Superpowers: Comedic timing, snoring with style, relentless charm
- Role: Morale Officer & Puppy Warm-Up Patrol
- Grayson is the life of the lair. Whether he's supervising the toy stash or showing puppies how to zoomie with flair, this little guy makes sure no day is too serious.
Nova
The Stealth Sniffer (German Shepherd)- Alias: Noseva, the Cosmic Scout
- Superpowers: Elite sniffing skills, quiet confidence, hypersensitive perimeter awareness
- Role: Scent Recon & Peace Patrol
- Nova may not be from the original Gotham lineup, but every team needs a wildcard. This elegant explorer prefers her missions solo, cruising the neighborhood with a nose that never quits. She brings calm to the chaos, keeps tabs on the vibes, and reminds the pack that sometimes, the best superheroes work in silence.
We're kind of a big deal
Mochi always has the best time here! This is the only boarding facility we truly trust. Elaine and Israel genuinely cares about every dog, and we always have complete peace of mind knowing Mochi is in such loving hands. We couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Elaine is amazing! She's an expert with dogs and not only hosts them but works extra hard to help them develop all of their best qualities. She's also super organized, responsive, and caring. We got lots of detailed updates and always knew exactly how our pup was doing. Loved having Elaine look after our dog during a trip and we'll definitely be returning!

Elaine & Izzy are complete professionals. They ensured our dog would fit into the pack and that he was up on his shots to keep everyone safe. They were flexible with our needs and our Aussie loved his stay. And the photos don’t lie: the fenced dog areas in front and back are kept amazingly immaculate.
